Keratosis Pilaris Natural Treatment

keratosis pilaris is a common skin disorder with small bumps and rough patches forming on the cheeks, arms, buttocks, legs and thighs. This makes the affected part look like a chicken skin. It does not cause any discomfort or pain. Pain can only occur when the bumps have been inflamed. The bumps are normally white in color and red sometimes.

Although it is a very common disorder, many people call it the chicken skin condition since they do not know that it has a name in the medical world. Each occurring bump is a hair follicle. This normally happens when your hair follicle is clogged by skin cells that are dead, which have trapped hair inside. Upon scratching a bump, you might notice a hair coil. However, you should desist from scratching the bumps because the follicles can be inflamed thus introducing pathogens in the process.

The main reason for this condition is not clear, however, a dry skin is one of the contributing factors. The condition normally gets worse when there is less moisture in the air. However, some people attribute it to hormonal changes. Women in pregnancy, puberty, and childbirth are very susceptible.

There is no distinct cure for this condition. Many people suffering from it recover on their own by the time they attain the age of thirty. Patients use some medicines and ointments but these only provide relief. Natural treatments are some of the most effective methods of relief from this condition and provide a quicker recovery.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is known worldwide due to the many nutrients it contains for good health and skin nourishment. It remains a very effective method for keratosis removal. Mix two tablespoons of coconut oil with two tablespoons of brown sugar. Rub on the area affected for around four minutes and then rinse with water. To achieve better results, you should do it regularly.

Alternatively, you can use coconut oil with apple cider vinegar. Mix equal quantities of each substance and leave it for some time to dry. Coconut oil has strong anti-bacterial and strong anti-inflammatory process that will speed up the healing process.

Regular exfoliation is one of the easiest ways of reducing bumps. It helps in the removal of dead cells that are on the surface of the skin, including the follicles that have piled over. This opens them and releases any trapped hair thus reducing the inflammation. Visible results can be observed within one week. However, to maintain the smooth feel of the skin, it has to be done regularly.

Exfoliation can be done either through chemical skin peeling or even mechanically. Mechanical exfoliation does not use any chemicals, however, you might feel a slight skin irritation especially if your skin is sensitive. Furthermore, rubbing the skin constantly might leave it dehydrated and it might get rough after some time.

Oatmeal scrub

Oatmeal is a skin friendly and gentle scrub for easing out the inflammation. It helps in keeping the skin moisturized thus keeps away the condition. Just mix it with milk or water and apply on those areas that have been affected. For good results, repeat this process three times per week and there will be notable improvements within a short span of time. A handful of oats mixed with water or milk should be allowed to mix for fifteen minutes

Olive oil scrub

When mixed with table salt, olive oil makes a good abrasive scrub that can help in keratosis removal. Mix three tablespoons of table salt with two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply on the skin, rub, and then massage the affected area for a few minutes. Proceed to wash off with soap. Repeat this procedure whenever necessary. This method is effective because the salt does the exfoliation while the olive oil helps to soothe your skin.

Lactic acid that is present in yoghurt helps in reducing excess keratin and dryness of the skin. Apply 3-4 tablespoons of yoghurt on the affected area and leave it on the skin for around fifteen minutes to dry. The lactic acid will exfoliate the skin through a chemical process while the milk proteins will leave your skin feeling soothed.

Retinol/vitamin A

One of the most effective natural treatments of keratosis pilaris is through taking vitamin A rich foods or taking the oil from the capsules. If you have this condition, your daily diet should always consist foods that have a high content of vitamin A. some of the foods where you can derive this important vitamin include liver, carrots, pumpkins, green leafy vegetables, eggs among others.

Due to the retinol present in vitamin A, proven skin benefits have been observed. It can also be used to treat keratosis pilaris through regulation of keratin production and clogging of follicles with dead skin cells. It also helps in reducing inflammation. Take one or two vitamin A capsules and squeeze the oil from it. Rub against the affected area with fingertips and wait for fifteen minutes.

Apple cider vinegar

Using a washcloth or a sponge, apply this substance directly to the skin. If necessary, you can dilute the vinegar using a wet sponge. Leave it on the affected area for around fifteen minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. The acid present in vinegar helps to exfoliate the skin through a chemical process. It removes the dry cells on the skin surface that are plugging the hair follicles. You can use few drops of coconut oil or moisturizing cream if the skin becomes too dry.

Numerous herbs can be used to treat skin disorders through skin softening. People suffering from keratosis pilaris will find the following herbs very useful; marshmallow, calendula, burdock, chickweed, slippery elm among others. They provide quick relief and a faster healing and recovery from this skin condition.

Proper diet

Nutrition is one of the most effective ways of managing keratosis pilaris. Avoiding junk food and taking a balanced diet should keep you on the right track of prevention and recovery, if you are already suffering from it. Consume plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits and drink a lot of water to keep the skin hydrated at all times. Nuts, oily fish and foods rich in omega 3 can prove very beneficial.

Natural treatments are some of the most effective methods of overcoming keratosis pilaris. People react differently to different substances. Therefore, find one that works best for you and apply regularly as per the instructions.

‘This program was a godsend for me! Usually women are the ones embarrassed by a skin condition but guys get self-conscious too. My KP really got to me in my late teens. I got made fun of by my so-called friends and became dptressed and withdrawn. Comments like, “What’s that leprosy stuff on your arms?”

I can’t tell you how many dates and social outings I’ve missed because of KP. I always thought just what if I didn’t have this. But thanks to Angela’s program I’m almost totally clear. I’m dating now. I’m actually asking my friends to go to the beach. I’m more outgoing. Life is good. Cheers to you, Angela, for helping me show my skin to the world! This is the only treatment program that I have ever used that actually WORKED!

A quick thank you for relieving all my embarrassment! With bumps on my arms, I was forced to keep them under wraps. I could never dream of wearing the latest fashion wear because of the red bumps. I can’t even imagine to count all the tears I shed because of my skin.

Thankfully, within the first month of following your system, my skin feels smooth, the redness and the bumps have all disappeared.

I am amazed at how quickly your system works. A million thanks to you… I am truly grateful.

I got KP at 19 right after got off Accutane. And, ever since I bought Angela’s “Banish My Bumps” method I’ve had KP free skin on my arms. It took a few weeks for my KP to go away complete but I’m amazed by my results.

My KP wasn’t all that bad but it flared up at certain times making it bad enough for me and others to notice.

I totally recommend Angela’s method. It was easy, the cost of the ingredients are cheap, you can get them all at any store you shop at, and it just plain works.

My sister and I have both been suffering from KP for the four years. We’ve tried desperately to search for anything that works for a cure but we basically lost all hope. I hate to wear tank tops because people stare at my arms. It was to the point where we were getting really depressed. I just wanted to wake up and be bump free…

I came accross your site after searching all over the web for keratosis pilaris cure and I’d figure I’d give it a try because I had nothing to lose and you offer a money back guarantee. We are like 4 weeks into the regimen and things are going great for both of us. My sister can’t stop talking about our improvement. It really helps having another family member with the same condition because you can share your expreinces and results.

I just wanted to drop a line and say thank you for your time and diligent research on Keratosis Pilaris. I’ve had KP since as along as I can remember and it has brought great stress to my life.

Living in the hot desert climate of Arizona basically forces me to have my skin uncovered. It seemed like I’ve always been depressed because it feels EVERYONE is looking at my skin and judging me. I love being out in the sun but I hate having my red, bumpy, rashy skin exposed to disrespectful eyeballs. It has really done a number on my self confidence.

My parents have tried to help me through this by getting me appointments with a number of dermatologists but no of them seem to care or listen. I was really at wits end before I found your remedy.

I’ve been using your system faithfully for the past 90 days and I have to say I’m so happy. My friends are even commenting that I’m glowing. Both outside and inside!!! 🙂 I don’t know how I could ever repay you.
